Well how could they miss in the ratings department. It's on all major networks, including PBS, and on all the so-called cable "news" networks. The programming on all other channels is notably weak with no real competition. Even the Monday Night Football game is a dud. It's like the corporate broadcast establishment wants to force people to watch. Normally, some cable channels would counter-program the hell out of a debate. Not this time.

Yes Lester Holt is portrayed in the Sacramento Bee as the hometown favorite taking on two presidential candidates for Debate 1. And yes the debates have this Boxing PPV promos like Pacquiao vs. Mayweather hype surrounding them.
