Westwood One News to Cover Presidential Debates

Smart money says they won't get either.

Every source from the Daily News to B&C are predicting "Superbowl-like ratings"

There have been no substantive debates on the issues since Mr Lincoln challenged Senator Douglas. And that was back in '58.

I remember the Lincoln-Douglas Debates re-enactment tour being on C-SPAN sometime in the 90s. As for Monday night, first candidate to say "you're a poopyhead" loses.

Well how could they miss in the ratings department. It's on all major networks, including PBS, and on all the so-called cable "news" networks. The programming on all other channels is notably weak with no real competition. Even the Monday Night Football game is a dud. It's like the corporate broadcast establishment wants to force people to watch. Normally, some cable channels would counter-program the hell out of a debate. Not this time.
