98.1 The Breeze has gone up to #4 in the San Francisco market. (The three stations ahead of it, KNBR, KCBS and KQED, are all talk-based.) Meanwhile the other big Soft AC stations, WFEZ Miami, is #3 and WDUV Tampa remains at #1.
I know KISQ's 25-54 numbers are not that good. But WDUV and WFEZ's 25-54 ratings are. So I suppose the plan is for iHeart to run KISQ for a while catering to the upper demos, then gradually move the station a bit younger, while not alienating the older fans.
Interestingly, iHeart has also converted Classic Hits KOSF to an all-80s format, leaving KISQ the 70s, as well as softer 80s and 90s hits.
