102.5 Belleville translator: no move for you

I liked this thread on the old KACO 1090 AM in Bellville so I did a little more research on this station. I recall hearing and DXing this station from San Antonio, Texas when they were performing CP equipment test after Midnight in July of 1974... Well, I thought its was the end of 1973 when I first heard this NEW radio station but it was actually sometime in July of 1974.
They were testing with music and asking for reception reports so I called in and told them I was calling in from San Antonio. It turns out that the local Bellville newspaper did a story on the KACO's equipment tests back then. I just now found an article on KACO from July 25, 1974 from a paid database at the library. It mentioned they were doing "TOWER TESTING" and "Had verification of reception of the 'MIGHTY 1090' from citizens in Houston and San Antonio and even a call from Pensacola, Florida." Their FCC Consulting Engineer and KACO staff members were there for the KACO tower tests along with the KACO CE.

They started out with 250 watts of power. The FCC has posted these KACO applications from the 70s here:
