Savannah: CW moving to WSAV 3.2; WGSA going dark?

I learned that WSAV 3 has picked up the CW affiliation from WGSA 35 and will start airing it on WSAV 3.2 in HD from September 12th of this year. These subchannel changes will leave WGSA 35 to become Independent or silent and effectively discontinue WSAV 3’s 24/7 local weather channel on WSAV 3.3, which is currently known as WSAV 3 Weather NOW.

WGSA already airs a WSAV-produced 10pm newscast. Do you think MG/Nexstar is just buying WGSA's programming and moving it to WSAV so that WGSA's owners can sell its spectrum in the auction?

I don't think WGSA will be around for much longer if the sell off becomes a reality. This is not good for the UHFs that broadcast above channel 30.

The changeover is set for September 12. MyLC/MeTV moves to 3.3.

WSAV proud to announce WSAV-CW beginning September 12

WSAV, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, is excited to announce a new era in local TV. WSAV is adding WSAV-CW on its digital sub-channel 3.2 beginning September 12, 2016. Savannah-area viewers will be able to watch The CW’s Golden Globe-nominated comedy JANE THE VIRGIN, the runaway hit series THE FLASH, which recently scored the largest premiere audience CW history, as well as the network’s other hit prime time series, including ARROW, SUPERNATURAL, DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES in high-definition.

The CW Network provides expanded offerings to WSAV’s strong NBC and and MeTV content that is attractive for any age group. A program guide will be available on wsav.com/programming as the launch date draws near.
