KOST 103 debuts "The Ellen K Morning Show" Oct 19th

Couple of notes.

Is Seacrest going solo in the morning? if not who will co-host with him?

Observation.
Mark Wallangren probably is getting tired of hosting mornings on KOST, hes been at it 30 years now.

Good time for Ellen K to take over,
Christmas season is a month away on KOST, which delivers excellent ratings during the holiday season. Good choice
Overall.

She also brings some name recognition for those folks (particularly women) who are starting to age out of KIIS. Part of that ongoing process stations do, as listeners move from CHR to Hot AC.

The woman sure does have some staying power. Think of all of the management, personnel, and personal changes she has been through and she is still on the air.

Nice to see that hard work and loyalty actually got rewarded this time. Unfortunately for the radio industry, that is the exception, not the rule.

It seems like when a CHR personality turns about 45, if they are still making money for the company, they just segue right over to the AC. Was Dees offered mornings at KBIG when he left KIIS? Anyway, how much longer until we hear, "Love songs on the coast with me Jo Jo on the Radio."

I think it is more like 40 when a jock goes from kiss to a sister station. This seems to be true for everyone except ryan seacrest. They gave him mornin drive in kuss and 11 years later he is doin fine.

Also the exception is elvis duran on Z 100. He is in his 50s.
