The only thing standing in between WPGC solidified top 5 ranking is its musical programming. Sam Swanson needs to allow Angelique Alston program the station back to its full-service urban roots and spin more contemporary R&B and neo-soul music. Washington is missing a station that can play whatever urban music that appeals to the format audience and has mass appeal. WHUR and WKYS has the one up on R&B and WPGC lack of competition on this front is what causes the station to stumble with the 25-54 demo particularly 25-34 year olds. The station has found its footing, and many love the old school hip-hop spins. However, the lack of contemporary R&B is what is missing to stabilize WPGC's consistent appeal and interest in listening with that 25-34 year old demo.

Are you privy to market 25-54 numbers, or are you arriving at your opinion based on published 6+ numbers of the posted link?

The last link on original post has a breakdown of 25-54 numbers for the Washington DC market. Additionally, DCRTV goes into further analysis of each 18-49, 18-34, 25-54 analysis of the August PPM. Both analyses show WPGC doing well overall and with the 18-49 and 18-34, but it is still weak with the 25-54 demographic.
