HITS rises past POWER; EASY is in LITE's rear view mirror

Remember when Cox decided to attack Lite-FM? It was a rough ride for Lite for a while, but they kept doing what they do best. Easy tweaked their format eliminated the very old stuff, like Johnny Mathis and Barbara Streisand. Now WLYF is way out in front and WFEZ isn't much of an issue anymore.

Now Cox decides to change Coast to Hits and hopes to do the same thing with Y100 and Power. Well, Power seems to be left in the dirt right now with WFLC climbing 3.4-3.5-4.0 and Power just holding steady 3.4-3.5-3.5 in 6+. Y100 is still out in front climbing 4.4-4.8-5.1.

Power, IMO, has gotten better recently with the music since CBS took over. But something it's missing is a morning show. It's so generic. Y has Elvis Duran. Hits has DJ Laz with Miami heritage. Power is kind of "yawn."

Not sure what will happen with these 3, but I think, at some point, South Florida will be down to just 2 CHRs.

WFEZ could grow there numbers by adding a little of the old stuff back into the format. Nobody wants to hear that of course, but that's where the growth is. South Florida has a lot of old people.
