93-1 Nash FM

What's up with 93-1 Nash FM lately? They seem to be branding themselves as a Country "CHR", but lately I've also heard them playing gold country titles too. Are they trying to become, say, a country version of WDVD, or is WYCD strangling them so bad in the ratings that they're adding gold country in an attempt to push WYCD hard?

In Nashville, where they own two competing country stations, they're playing more Gold on one of them, and that station is actually the highest rated country station in town. That's in a market with 4 country stations.

I would guess they are trying different mixes to see if that impacts the ratings. A better approach might be to let the local managers stream the NASH stream or the ICON stream in different dayparts as they determine is best for their markets.
