I realize this is not exactly up-to-date news, but I also noticed no one else had posted it.
Longtime Twin Cities radio favorite Joyce Lamont died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at age 98. Born in North Dakota, she began her radio career at WCCO as a staff writer, but was "drafted" to read a script in which a woman's voice was needed. That was in 1950, and she would become a regular fixture on the station for 39 years. When WCCO failed to renew her contract in 1989, she joined several other ex-CCO talents at KLBB, where she worked until her retirement in 2003.
