Santa hits the airwaves in Albany

Here in Los Angeles, adult-contemporary KOST 103.5 began playing full-time Christmas music in mid-November of 2001 in the hope that it would lighten the mood of all of us who were still in shock following the September 11 terrorist attacks. KOST has begun playing Christmas music every November since then, but KOST will not be the first station to switch to Christmas music this year. WQSH is licensed to the city of Malta and serves the Albany area and started playing Christmas music today, March 4. The station is now "Santa 105.7"....but is it just a stunt?

Yes, knowing the up and down history of 105.7, this has GOT to be a stunt! I'll admit it's cool for a while...but that's about it.

I bet it's a stunt. I would say they end up as classic rock or talk. They've been wanting to switch 105.7 to talk for quite a while. Several years ago, they tried to get Glenn Beck. Since iHeart syndicates Beck's show, they told WGY that someone was interested and gave them the first right of refusal. WGY dumped their local 9-12 show and picked up Beck in order to block the move. I would say classic rock makes more sense as most of the "power house" talk personalities are already locked in at WGY, and with Savage being at 1300.

Apparently the radio station is going in to rewind domain name been registered by the owner of the station be a gold basic kinda station which that station management best of luck with format
