Howie Carr In Hospital

Howie's twitter has a pic of him in his hospital bed; he's on morphine. He called in during the first part of the show. VB filling in.
He had a "sleeve" put in, gastro surgery to help him lose weight

Had he not been wearing a seat belt the day after the election (rolled over his car on the Pike) he might not still be here. "Better strap yourself in" as Dana says in the intro.

Howie will get out Sunday morning; nothing to eat or drink today, not even water

I thought Howie had a body of well tempered steel... oh, that was the Ol' sport, the late great Norm Nathan. Never thought Howie was that fat that he needed gastro- intestinal procedures to control his food intake. Still, pretty risky surgery. Don't want him to be the next Joan Rivers..Can we talk about Howie being the real "FAT BOY" ???

Cpap

Apparently Howie has had to sleep with a CPAP device. Losing weight usually clears up about 80% of sleep apnea cases. So I think that's the real reason he want to lose weight. Otherwise it's usually not a problem to be moderately fat and happy.

Wish him a complete recovery.
