Yo Returns To Montgomery Last Updated on December 26, 2014 at 11:18 am While many stations nationally are flipping to Classic Hip-Hop, in Montgomery Bluewater Broadcasting is returning to the format. 100.5 W263BX Montgomery/WQKS-HD2 has dropped its Soft AC “Lite 100.5” and relaunched as “Yo 100.5“. The move resurrects the Classic Hip-Hop and Yo branding Bluewater utilized on 107.1 W296AI from August 2011 until it flipped to Classic Rock in September 2013. W263BX is promoting itself has the new local home for the syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show, which currently airs on sister Urban “97.9 Jamz” WJWZ.

moving joyner to 100.5 leaves everything open for questions like will jamz be getting a new morning show? a return of a previous morning show (Russ parr?) or a possible format flip??
it doesn't sound like joyner will be simulcast.
 
Format change not likely. I'd definitely think a new morning show is coming though. Rickey Smiley is HUGELY successful in southern markets especially. I'd expect them to try and pick it up.

since i last worked at BlueH20, i've noticed that they seem to be copying from other stations, using tag lines formally associated with Hot 105 / WKXN (the people's station).

yo also seemed to have picked up for clear channel personnel including Darryl E. Wonder if they'll write a big enough check to hire michael long and Costee J.mcnair?
 
You guessed right, 979jamz.com is now promoting the ricky smiley show.
 
Speaking of Costee J. McNair, just heard him on The Power Station WKXN and WKXK. It looks like Hot 105.7 is all but done for. They may have the listeners but their presentation is very dull now.

P.S. I believe Michael Long recently got axed from Hot 105.7 too. Don't know if he's in still in radio or not.
