Okay, thanks, I got it backwards. I get distracted if I look these things up.All 4 One took the song to #1 for 11 weeks in 1994 but Montgomery had the original version.

I didn't. But the only Laura Branigan song I actually like is "How Am I Supposed to Live without You", except for the loud guitar (definitely better than the mess Michael Bolton makes of it). At least the station I listened to in the 80s cut out the introduction to "Self Control", though parts of that were pretty bad even then.I thought All 4 One was first because I never heard the Country version until years later. By the way, how did you like "Solitaire"?
You lost me! Why are you talking about Laura Branigan? "Solitaire" is a Carpenters song, as I mentioned in the other thread and I can't imagine you not liking it!I didn't. WRVR in Memphis did that at the time, but I doubt that they would do that now, assuming that they even still play it, which seems unlikely now.At least the station I listened to in the 80s cut out the introduction to "Self Control", though parts of that were pretty bad even then.
I don't click on links. I'm at home. I have no speakers, I don't want to pay for fast eough Internet to listen to anything, and I just plain don't go to sites I don't know when at home.Thank you! That certainly explains what happened. He didn't click on the link. He looked it up and got the wrong song!
Thank you for getting back to me. I would think that You Tube is among the safest sites out there, in that it's probably the #2 way of consuming music, at this point! If it weren't, we would have heard about it by now. The only probable solution I have is to go to the library. They probably have headphones. You could also use the computer or smartphone of a friend or relative. How did you happen to hear the Laura Branigan song?I don't click on links. I'm at home. Radio, back when the song was popular.Thank you for getting back to me. I'll just wait until I get to the library where headphones are provided. I live alone so all I need at home are the speakers my cousin promised though I'm not paying more for fast Internet. You can buy a set of plug-n earphones for less than $5. They work adequately.
Dolly Parton did a cover of Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven in 2002 that was played on Country and Pop Radio.
Yet with Cash, his American Recordings stuff is among his most critically acclaimed music ever in his career.
But yet, he will still be better known for his classic tunes like "I Walk the Line," "Ring of Fire" "Boy Named Sue," and "Folsom Prison Blues" than for any of his "critically acclaimed" stuff. Critics don't buy music.Yet with Cash, his American Recordings stuff is among his most critically acclaimed music ever in his career.
