Watch for Raleigh's new AC station to debut soon aimed right up the keister of WRAL-FM. Jimmy Goodman can't understand why Curtis Media beats him at everything and he is about to learn what it's like to have direct competition on 102.9. Sorry Jimmy...the smartest people in Triangle radio don't work for CBC. 'Better hire a real market manager before you blow it all. Your dad would.

They could have never succeeded as long as Bill and Sheri were on WRAL. In fact, they may have tried and failed for that reason.

Is this going to take over the 102.3 signal?

Nope... 102.3 is back on the air, with a country format as originally rumored when news of the sale first broke last year. I had been wondering why they would have 102.3 compete with QDR, but the new station on 102.3 is primarily aimed at Johnston County and won't affect QDR at all...
