CRTC Forces Radio India/Sher-e Punjab To End Operations on KVRI/KRPI at Midnight

Maybe it's because Whatcom County just didn't have the ability to support much advertising on a TV station. Bellingham didn't historically have a large population, and KVOS would have been competing with the big three Seattle stations, as well as CHEK, CHAN, and CBUT. I know the big three made it OTA to N Snohomish County, I'm sure with a decent antenna (or cable) they also made it to the Bellingham market as well.

KVOS is/was considered a Seattle-Tacoma TV station. Whatcom is considered part of the Seattle market. KVOS sold advertising into Vancouver and across the border because that's where the money was, plus the station was popular as compared with BC TV stations. TV doesn't sell advertising the same way or the same rates, small market radio does. Everything with operating a TV station, is substantially more expensive than a radio station.
