James Corden's ‘Late Late Show’ Start Date Announced

Craig Ferguson will step down from CBS's “Late Late Show” on Dec. 19, with his replacement, James Corden, stepping in to take his place on March 9, 2015, the network said Thursday.

And in between, two months of guests hosts, in the style of Later in the late 90's to keep the seat warm, which should be of interest to third-tier cable nets looking to get into late night and looking for a free audition process.
 
Funny how Craig & Geoff occasionally mention "the new guy." As in, we'll leave that for the new guy to deal with. Or the new guy to discover. I imagine the show will come from the same studio. Ferguson inherited his previous studio, and even some of the set design, from Craig Kilborn.

When Craig Kilborn started his version of the "Late Late Show", and into the earlier years of the Ferguson incarnation, they utilized Studio 58 at Television City. It was in August 2012 that Ferguson moved next door to studio 56.

Kind of funny that he insisted on the new larger studio in his contract, and he really hasn't utilized the extra space for musical guests as much as he could.
