Equity Communications Soft AC “Easy 93.1” WEZW Wildwood Crest, NJ is once again the first station to make the seasonal move to All-Christmas music.

This is the second time WEZW is been the first station in the country to make the move to All-Christmas for the year as it also was in 2011, when it also made the move on October 17. WEZW serves the southern tip of New Jersey as part of the Atlantic City/Cape May market.

Well, that was quick. Listening in now and they're simulcasting Bob Pantano's Saturday Night Dance Party. The WEZW calls were announced at the top of the hour along with WOGL and WTTH.

They did that last year too, IIRC. They still carry the Dance Party so, even though it's all-Christmas, it isn't actually all Christmas.

Gary does this to take away from his major competitor wfpg so that wayv can be #1.

The signal in Cape May County only so it can only do so much, it is more or less a throw away stick for Equity, without full market coverage it can't really be a money maker, just a flanker. They could play Christmas music all year round, it wouldn't matter.

I'm sure they like the attention that they get by being the 1st in the nation to go xmas each year.

Oh boy. Jingle Bell Rock in mid October...like we need it.

They seem to have online listeners from all over the country for the Christmas music.

Interestingly, at my location New Brunswick, NJ, it is actually more likely for me to pick up Easy 93.1 from Miami than Easy 93.1 from Cape May. WEZW doesn't get out too well on tropo, whereas Miami is pretty common on e-skip and WFEZ is 100000 watts.
