CFZM...now with update music?

This station was the epitome of adult standards....but I tuned in last night to hear Anita Ward's "Ring My Bell".

Did they update the music a tad?

Yes they have and they have 5 hours featuring 5 decades in the evenings and have had them for a few months now. 50's at 5, 60's at 6, 70's at 7, 80's at 8 and 90's at 9. I haven't considered the station to be a standards station in years...more like an oldies station that sometimes throws standards in. They were more of a true standards station before Moses took it over. New music had always been featured for years now, but it had to fit a certain sound. Now they're even playing some songs with *gasp!* distorted electric guitars! Although those are still on the lighter side, relatively speaking.

I was very surprised to hear Anita Ward's "Ring My Bell" after Midnight on Midnight Blu....as she often plays torch songs and ballads.

There is a hole in the market for an all disco station, but I doubt that will happen with AM 740.
