WRNQ Returns As "Q 92.1" This Week

As you know, WRNQ has been using "Lite" for a decade or so, but it's coming back as of this week. That would be interesting to see the old "Q 92.1" moniker going back into the late 80's and early 90's when Van Ritshie was at "Q 92.1" at the time before he left the station in the late 90's and then returned to the station back in 2011 where he is still hosting his morning show on "Fox Oldies".

92.1 dropped the "Q" name since 2002 when it was rebranding itself as "Lite-FM" which was a clone of a highly successful AC station in New York City at 106.7. And then, about a year later, they simulcasted on 99.3 in Ellenville as WFKP and on 98.5 in Catskill as WCTW when they dropped "The Cat" for a few years and then came back in 2009. But then it became "Lite 92.1" for a few years and then completely dropped it so they don't want to use the name "Lite" anymore. But now, the "Q" moniker is back for now.

Here is an article about it.
