Disney Stations signing off

Post here about when your local disney station sign off for good

As of today, AM 1310 & 1470 still have radio disney program in West Sacramento

1250 KKDZ Seattle and 1640 KDZR Portland are still Disney.... although acc. to Wikipedia article on R. Disney there may be sales pending.

The national articles all have Disney turning off the switch on September 26, except for LA, where their programming originates.

Is there information to suggest any of their stations might switch, or sell sooner?

WWJZ 640 Mt. Holly NJ which covers Philly well is silent as of today. They were 50,000 watts during the day and that signal could be heard everywhere. What a waste running Disney for all those years. Wonder if they will return to the air? Potentially that station could reach millions of listeners. With Disney, maybe a few thousand listened. They were standards for years. Would love to see that format resurface on 640, but I have a feeling it will be religious(as if the Philly area needs more of that format!)ethnic or brokered and end up with fewer listeners than the Disney format had, but it's AM and it doesn't matter. Too bad.

Pop music on the AM airwaves a "waste of signal"? Hope you like more religion.

Standards doesn't sell -- apparently advertisers could care less about 55+ / 65+ demographics. So you can forget about that format returning, although it sounds good on the AM band. The only standards stations I hear at night are in high retirement zones.

Maybe only "thousands" listened to Disney stations, but at least it kept pop music on the AM band for a while.

Radio Disney in Chicago

As of October 13, WRDZ-AM, the Radio Disney station in the Chicago area, is still on the air.
