TSN launches five national feeds

I remember when TSN was a new station, Canada's only 24 hour sports outlet. Then came RDS in French. Then RSN from Rogers became a national outlet.

In the U.S. it was similar. ESPN came on in the early days of cable, with no big national sports contracts. So they'd do college wrestling, pro rodeo, whatever they could get to fill airtime. The E even stood for Eastern, since they didn't have plans to be a national channel. But as cable became more popular, ESPN took off, getting bought in chunks by ABC/Disney. They added ESPN 2, then ESPN News, then they bought Classic Sports and turned it into ESPN Classic, then ESPN U (for university). Now there's CBS Sports, NBC Sports, Fox Sports 1 and 2, plus regional sports outlets that have gone national, such as BTN (Big Ten Network).

So if TSN has five channels now, how about RDS?
