Admittedly late to the party, but I was not happy to see former Cubs PBP man Dewayne Staats return to Wrigley Field during the recent series with the Tampa Bay Rays.
Like a lot of Cubs fans, I have bad memories of Dewayne's stint with the Cubs from '85-'89. His nasally voice and dry delivery remind me way too much of former Canadian pro wrestling announcer Ed Whalen (and, no, that is not a compliment towards either man. Whalen was the pits).
From all accounts, Dewayne is a really nice guy, but I'd prefer it if he stayed in Florida and as far away from the Cubbies as possible.
