WALK-FM ch-ch-ch-changes?

On July 10, 2014, the FCC approved the Clear Channel Aloha Trust/Qantum/Connoisseur Media transaction centering on WALK-FM (and WALK-AM). Barring any last minute glitches, the $50 million transaction should close shortly.

Connoisseur is not afraid to make changes at any of it's properties to increase ratings and revenues. This was evidenced by the recent changes made at WDRC 102.9 in Hartford just as the ink was drying on the contract.

While WALK-FM is currently tied with WBLI as Long Islands #1 radio station, might they be soon playing David Bowie's CH-CH-CH-CHANGES?

Personally, I would love to see an alternative format but it's not likely with The Shark's numbers beginning to drown and with B-103 as a relatively weak flanker. (Funny how the Sharks numbers started to drown once they got a full time air staff!)

So that leads to the question, what's YOUR preference for WALK-FM?

They also own WKJY, that is also doing well. They are too close together to simulcast, and a simulcast would not result in ratings greater than the sum of each individual station. Perhaps differentiate between the two by making one a soft AC like WLIX. 98.3 would be a good station to flip to soft AC since there really isn't anything soft to listen to in its coverage area.

Pop/soul-oriented classic hits.
