1400 am WEST now has a sunday morning oldies show from 11am to 1pm.there's word that by next year Oldies will be the format! anyway the sound is a bit distorted but the music is mostly 60's early 70's.DJ is Jimmy K or the K something like that.it will remind you the Nine tape or 900 radio WVWA the classic radio station bit.

It's great that the station is going to do something other than ethnic programming!

That will be real profitable....60s and early 70s.....on an AM station no less.

As of January 1, 2017, 1400 WEST-AM in Easton and 1600 WHOL-AM in Allentown, Pennsylvania is a Spanish Tropical "La Ola Radio".

WEST-AM is a class "C" station with 1kW day/night licensed to Lehigh Valley Broadcasting Associaton.

WHOL-AM is a class 'D" station with 1kw day/56w night licensed to Matthew P. Braccili.

WHOL-FM has a four watt translator station, W258BM on 99.5 FM. Antenna polarization is both horizontal and vertical. Antenna
pattern in ominidirectional.

According to their website the station also broadcast on 92.9. This must be from translator station in Reading, W225CF that is licensed to American FM Associates, INC. with 99 watts on both horizontal and vertical polarization. Their beam pattern is towards
the west-southwest. Translator license was applied in April 2017.

My location here is off the map to the west by a half inch.

Before the dial got so incredibly noisy the past several years, WEST was a weak but regular daytime catch here on a decent radio. No more, though.

Even back in the DXing days near JFK Airport, WEST was the weaker of the two, vis-a-vis WEEX. And underneath WWIN Baltimore would be WEST, with their all-night show, IDing only as 'Radio 14'.

Gotta wish them several metric tons of good fortune though, as someone suggested above.

Music no longer of any sales use ..... on the AM dial ..... and on a 1400 signal. Woof.
