Questions About Your Work and Your Image Voice

It's one thing to do a job well and another altogether to have someone tell someone else what you've done.
Here's WHY you benefit from having a recognizable Image Voice on your station:
1. YOUR Listeners more readily identify you, your jocks and station with "that guy's voice" and with your frequency and calls. It's a way of standing out, identifying yourself among the crowd and that's something you can never do enough.
2. There is a significant psychological advantage in having an Image Voice on your air. With a recognizable voice saying your name, telling your story, branding your overall presentation, you become immediately validated, more trusted and thus easier to "get a handle on" and, absolutely, an easier sound which to remember and return.
3. Experienced Image voice guys have amassed their own extensive toolbox of secrets that help their clients win. Theirs is a body of knowledge that has survived what came before and remains explosively current for today's market place. They are experienced now in doing what it takes to make People Meters start registering more and more returnees.
Knowing this to be true, a few curiosities about what you're doing...
Do you have an image voice representing you on the air now? Is there a writer exclusive to your project?
Is this person you? That the way you like it, or did you "settle?" (if so, it doesn't have to be that way)
Do you have a plan for evolving your station's image? (Enormous changes occur within your core audience each SEASON.)
Do you have ways to remain current with your listeners? Have you enough time to do these tasks with your personal best?
Are you "on a leash" with no budget for Self Promotion and ID Imagery? If so, what are your work-around moves?
You gotta know where you are before you can get anywhere. Want motion, start your day by asking yourself those questions, but don't answer for a few days. It's OK if the answers are not immediately apparent, with this reading, the energy has already begun its roll.

There are times when a change in station image voice is needed. After waaaay too many years our market's rock/classic rock station needs a fresh new voice. SOOOO tired of hearing him over and over and over on everything. And of course he's on far more than any of the jocks.

Also not a good idea to have an image that sounds like he has a clothespin on his nose when he says "news" (yes, I'm speaking to you KPNX).
