LPFM Public Service/Community Programming requirements

I'm curious: are LPFM held to the same public service/community/PSA requirement that is expected from full service commercial broadcast station?

I read through a synopsis of the FCC LPFM regs and did not see this being mentioned.

To the best of my knowledge, LPFM requirements are closer to non-commercial requirements than commercial station requirements. They are, in and of themselves, non-commercial stations, but I do believe there are a handful of differences in various requirements.

When you say "non-commercial" does that mean essentially "church programming" and or "community involvement", etc. Can they run advertising to try and make enough money to stay afloat, or strictly PSA, etc.?

Unless you want the clear FM signal, going LPAM would seem to be less restrictions and requires no waiting time for FCC licenses, etc.

Non commercial means no advertising. It has nothing to do with programming.

Soooooooo..........assuming you could get a LPFM license, you could do whatever you want, no commercials, but could you run it as "user supported" radio (i.e. like Public Television and ask for donation) and essentially run it as a non-profit? Jeez.......non-profit......makes me sound like a commie.
