For the last ten years I've had an AFRTS blog online with a lot about the history of the network. It's quite a story but somehow doesn't seem to have an adequate book.
There are a LOT of airchecks. Over the years Charlie Tuna, Wolfman Jack, Gene Price and a lot of the stars of Los Angeles radio did shows and a lot of to be famous later jocks did shows overseas.
I know a lot of the people who made the history and have some pretty amazing sources if a question comes up that I can't answer.
