Bobby Butler Passes Away (former KIKX, KHOS Tucson Programmer and Personality

Bobby "SoFine" Butler as we knew him died this past Sunday of a massive stroke. He had been at Superbia Retirement Village in Oklahoma City for the past 5 years. He was 67 years old. If you are from Phoenix, I am sure you know his resume. Memorial Services will be at 1pm on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Retirement home. The address is 9720 Stacy Court, Oklahoma City, OK 73162. Flowers can be delivered there in care of his fiance Gwendolyn Bottoms. This is not a rumor as I've seen posted in some comments. I was one of Bobby's best friends since the mid 70s when he gave a very green jock his 2nd job (me) when he programmed KHOS-Tucson. His track record is so enormous I can't even remember all of the Phoenix stations, but did mornings at KJJJ, KNIX, also he worked at the old KRDS, also at KARZ, and KOOL-FM. He also launched KIKX-Tucson as a Country station in Sept 1977. In the 90s, he worked at KBGO-Las Vegas, and KQOL-Las Vegas.
His other credits include KIKK-Houston-Pasadena, TX, also K-Frog in Farmington, NM, Hobbs, NM, and he worked some part time gigs in Oklahoma City. He is survived by his sons.
