I remember when KIPO 89.3 FM was a small station (3,000 watts) in West Oahu. Based on my experience, the weaker KIPO could not reach Kaimuki, Kolekole Pass, and Waimanalo. The weaker KIPO put in a good signal to Waipahu, where I live.
I don't remember KIPO being on Oahu. It used to be AM 570 on Kauai! I lived on Kauai from 1979 to 1986, and the station was KIVM1350, then it switched to 570 and became KIPO sometime in the mid-80s. Perhaps the KIPO called sign moved on to Oahu after I left the islands.
