Jo Painter leaves WEEU

First it was Charlie Adams retiring from WEEU after 30+ years last autumn, now Jo Painter has left after 30 years. She had a big final broadcast Friday. What's going on at WEEU? Why's everyone bailing? Local talk apparently stays in the afternoon. A new show supposedly debuts next week in Painter's old 3 to 5 slot.

Its a wonder WEEU still has a few local talk hosts. Most talk stations have a local host in am---drive
& the rest of the day is syndicated hosts.
The Eagle newspaper should sell WEEU & get out of radio. The station sounds bad. What is its current rating.? (market share)

Any word who might replace Adams & Painter at old AM830 ? It has to be
someone who can appeal to people over the age of 75.

What happened there? Jo has been on that station for so long. I assumed Charlie just retired but I'm curious as to what happened with Jo Painter? Is she going to another station?

It was quite obvious JO wanted nothing to do with the talk format, she just wanted to spin really bad pop ballads... when the station went all talk in the afternoon, she was out (replaced by that left-wing, unlistenable, little angry wackjob nick lawrence who really seems to like playing bumper music aimed at gay men) more than she was in.... the only real reason for 830 AM is rush limbaugh, the phillies, and the local weather.. other than that its awful in comparison to 790 WAEB out of allentown which is much more cutting edge talk radio...
