Changes in Reno?

Rumblings about lots of changes coming to Reno. Rumors floating around: Americom to flip Little City and move CBS sports to the 97.3 frequency, which is a better signal than 96.1, heating up the sports rivalry with Lotus. They signed up Yahoo Sports for the 1270AM signal, which now airs CBS Sports. Heavyweight Adam Delevitt is coming in to take over all of the sports programming on both stations. Latest is that Byron Kennedy will be consulting the sports stations and Carmichael Dave may be doing a show that will be in addition to his Sacramento program. Not sure the sign on date but word is it will be within a month. Where does that leave the 96.1 translator? Is Bruce Van Dyke coming back to Lotus to do a daily sports talk show? Is Wilkes going to blow up Mix or KTXH or both? Cumulus might be next to bring in the NASH syndicated country and dump the K-Bull brand. They've been doing it across the country, probably only a matter of time before they get around to Reno.

Little City has been announcing it's moving to 92.5 over the last week. So, it's pretty much a done deal that something new is coming to 97.3. Judging from websites Americom has been registering, 97.3 will be going country. Not sure where Americom will originate Little City since 92.5 is a translator. As far as I know, they don't do HD Radio, and their AM's aren't prime for a format change.

As for Nash on K-Bull, unless the ratings start dropping, I doubt you'll see it go full-blown Nash, at least not soon. Of course, it already airs Nash Nights Live, and it will probably add more Nash programming as time goes on.

Yeah, you're right. Little City has already made the move to 92.5, another translator, moved from S Lake Tahoe to Reno which appears to be duplexed with 96.1. Looks like they will do an HD station as well.

As previously predicted, Wilkes is blowing up The Mix to move The Bandit over since they sold 100.9 frequency to K-Love's company. Could be just a matter of time before they find buyers for their last two frequencies left.
