Blackbelt Broadcasting Signs on New Rhythmic AC in Livingston/Demopolis, Alabama.

WLYB, Livingston-Demopolis hits the air with a rhythmic AC format after stunting for the past week with TV themes. Blackbelt Broadcasting’s new startup “96.3 LYB” features a live and local air staff with music including image artists Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Usher, Carrie Underwood, Earth, Wind & Fire and more. Larry Nelson, formerly of Dial Global, joins for mornings and after an absence of 10 years from radio, Damon Collins (WPIK and WAIL FM, Key West, Florida) fills the afternoon slot. More talent will be added soon.

I'd love to see some of those rhythmic AC play more freestyle dance music from particularly the '80s, especially Expose, Company B, Sweet Sensation, Cover Girls and the like. Also, don't be afraid to play 12" singles!

Love the freestyle stuff. But more suited for the larger markets.
