R.I.P. David McDaniel - Longtime Alabama broadcaster killed in accident

Longtime Alabama broadcaster David McDaniel passed away Friday night. McDaniel was tragically killed in an auto accident. He was a fixture on Alabama Radio for many years. David was known for many things in the broadcasting business (a few include) The Voice of Samford Sports, "Wally and Dave Show" in Tuscaloosa, 97.3 The Zone in Birmingham, NASCAR coverage on WTDR in Talladega. He was also a well-known fixture in auto racing, where he called many race broadcasts as track announcer and on the radio. Until his death he was the morning show host and GM of WTBC / WNPT Catfish Country in Tuscaloosa, sideline reporter for Samford Football and the radio voice of Samford Women's Basketball. David was a kind gentle soul and will be missed by all that knew and worked with him.
