Final Dominos Fall Into Place

The billboards are up. KSAS Caldwell "KISS 103.3" is moving to 103.5. Soon.

It all started way back over 11 years ago when someone wanted to add A "first service" FM to Boardman Oregon.
Then Cherry Creek got involved and things went sideways and it's too confusing if I start there.

Working back from 103.3. They are moving to 103.5 because 97.9 KQFC got moved to 102.7 to make room for the KPHD 97.5 Elko move to Melba (as a first service) and 97.7. They later did a one-step to 97.9 in preparation for a facilities swap (see below).

103.3 also had to move because 102.9 KMVX Jerome was moving to 103.1 out of the way of KQFC 102.7.

Now 103.7 KSKI Hailey had to move to 94.5 out of the way of both KVMX and KSAS.

Now the big delay.
KSKI and KVMX (now KZNO) didn't file the required application to move to their new frequencies until earlier this year.

In the meantime, KPHD and KQFC swapped facilities moving the allocation for KQFC Boise back to 97.9 and the allocation for KPHD to 102.7. This to speed things up.

According to the FCC filing KSKI has moved to 94.5 thus allowing KSAS to move to 103.5 and KZNO to move to 103.1.
As soon as they do 102.7 can go on the air! I hear the 102.7 antenna is on the tower (same one KSRV-FM 96.1 "BOB FM" is on).

A note about KSKI. They now have a deciently powered translator on the old 103.7 frequency.
Clever way to not leave people with static.

102.7 KPHD "Melba" is testing in the "experimental" period midnight to 5 am-ish with diverse i-pod shuffle music and an occasional female digital legal ID.

Callsign: KPHD Permit No.: BPH-20111011AJS

Well, they're testing now in the daylight with the same music shuffle and produced legal IDs that sound electronic.

KZNO moved to 103.1. Application for license filed 11/07/13.
As of 11/11/13 KPHD is now KZMG. The old 93.1 calls resurface.

KZBQ 93.7 Pocatello has re-applied for a move to 93.9 as required in MD Docket No. 05-243.
After they move KZDX 99.9 Burley can move to 93.5 (with a slightly directional signal away from KUBL 93.3 SLC).
After that, the former Salmon ID KXML 99.9 now Fairfield, can go on the air in the Boise market from a site east of Boise (adjacent to the 99.1 KPDA Gooding and KINF 100.7 transmitter site).
