This just in: WHBF the next QC TV station to get new owner

As of right now, Rock Island's WHBF-TV will be operated by Nexstar Broadcasting with a full acquisition pending FCC approval. This would be the third station in the Quad Cities to get a new owner. What's next, Sinclair buys KLJB and KGCW?

UPDATE: It's official-- WHBF is now a Nexstar company as the sale was finalized last Thursday. Also, Nexstar also plans to buy KGCW. The approval of that acquisition is still pending.

However, KLJB is the exception to the rule as it will be purchased by Mission and operated by Nexstar. According to a Q&A page on qctimes.com, KWQC will still produce the Fox 18 news...

I wonder if they will put WHBF on a subchannel? Would solve the long problem of being the only station in the market on VHF.
