Thomas Media's WJAK 1460 AM in Jackson recently flipped from FOX Sports to "Southern Soul 1460." According to their Facebook page, they're "Jackson's new urban station for grown folks" and plays party blues and oldies.
I listened some this weekend and programming appears to be a satellite feed. The web site mentioned was partybluesandoldies.com. I could be wrong, but the local imaging/liners sounded like they were recorded by James E. Wolfe, Jr. - "SuperWolfe".
I remember a former coworker discussing buying that station, and then selling the call letters to anyone who wanted them for a "Jack-FM" station. ;D I believe that he had deep enough pockets at the time, and could have done that, had he wanted to.
