Okay, I am a little confused.
Info/Help is greatly appreciated !!
I am under the understanding, I heart Radio
is "owned" (or OWNED) by Clear Channel...
First, is that correct?
And, if so, why does (in my home market: Buffalo)
have (formerly Citadel / Cumulus ) stations
promoting a rival Radio clusters product...?
(Do I have that "correct" ) ?
And, is it as simple as: money/revenue.
While the (Entercomm) radio station, for example
may advertise I Heart Radio - (as I heart radio is
paying for the time)..I have noticed the
spot promotes the PRODUCT ( I heart Radio)
not the fact that it is a Clear Channel property....
but I am still confused, why Clusters (while it brings in
the revenue) allow a rival to advertise on their network ?
On some levels, "I Get it" but at the same time,
I am comfortable with this posting - asking the question -
[is it similiar to having an NBC talk show, say Leno for example,
having an CBS (comedy) star on the show, and not "worrying"
about saying yea, turn the channel during primetime to catch
my guest's new show) as It doesn't DIRECTLY compete with me,
and "who cares" > as this day and age, everyone knows (where/when to find it)
I guess:
it is a "rival" but at the same time it is a business... Is that
the case for the original I heart radio inquiry
