Game Over For NFLN As TWC Takes Over Insight

The largest cable operator without a deal with NFL Network has yanked the channel as well as NFL RedZone from lineups of the former Insight Communications, which Time Warner acquired earlier this year.

Cablevision is another large cable operator that still doesn't carry NFL Network/RedZone. This is significant considering they cover much of the NYC area.

According to NFLN, Time Warner is the only carrier in the top eight providers that doesn't carry the network. I would guess Cablevision would be the ninth top provider overall, based on this logic?

Meanwhile, AT&T U-verse viewers won't miss any action, as that carrier has extended their deal with NFLN and RedZone:

I'll show them. Had DirecTV installed this morning! When I took the box back to the Insight office, they asked why I was cancelling. Said I was a big NFL fan and removing the NFL Net was the last straw. I noticed in the corner, they had a stack of boxes about as tall as I am with a pile of remotes next to them. I'm assuming my fellow NFL fans are also cutting the Insight cord.
