IS 1090 AM OUT OF BOSTON INTERFERRING WITH WBAL?

Early Byrd

Frequent Participant
The Boston board is reporting that WILD (1090 AM), a 5 KW non-directional daytimer, has been leaving their transmitter on after they are required to shut down. It is also reported their is no audio and it has been left on 24 hours recently. Anybody in the fringe area of WBAL's night pattern been getting any sky wave interference? ???

A 5000 watt non directional station on 1090 out of Boston would definitely make Baltimore at night. A carrier with no modulation would have limited impact, but look out if somebody pushes play.

Sounds like another station on auto-pilot. Audio shuts down, but nobody is around to push an off button for the transmitter. Sad.

From 35 mi SW of Boston Ma, WBAL is loud and strong whenever I check which is often. Signal is MUCH stronger than 1080 WTIC Hartford Ct. ALMOST local grade albeit some small fades.
