KPKX legal ID

This morning, I noticed that KPKX's legal ID contains the phrase "100,000 watts from the top of South Mountain" (or something like that).

I'm not sure when this started, but regardless, I love hearing it. It brings back great memories of KKFR's legal ID from 1992-93 (link below). I also remember Energy 92.7 having a similar legal ID (voiced by Mitch Craig) at the start of the Resurrection Flashback Lunch a few years back.

Kudos to the Peak for contiuning to sound more "local" than radio generally seems to be nowadays.

I'll have to listen for that next hour. It is always nice to see fresh ideas in the area of imaging.

Your point is well-taken.

From my perspective: while it may be recycled, it's at least locally relevant. And on a more personal level, I have very fond memories of Power 92 from that era...anything I hear that reminds me of that station/time is a good thing.
