So, now that 93.9 has flipped....

Every radio frequency needs to make money. A simulcast does not make a "stick" money. They would be better off with the AM talk station and an FM automated music box. A simuclast is HIGHLY unlikely. And the rumor of the move to FM WAS true. They "moved" WIOD to one of the HD channels on 93.9. (It was on 94.9)
Most of the FM's in CC's Miami cluster are already jukeboxes. Probaly one or two people at the most babysitting the automation at the cluster.

Simulcasting news-talk AM stations is something typical that CC does.

No, it is something typical that smart owners of heritage AM news talkers do. Or they just move the whole format to FM. In either case, the ratings go up and 25-54 improves drastically.

As I said in my last post, CC has no clue on how to run a successful station or better yet, program "great radio".

In the news talk area, stations like KOA and KFI come to mind. Among the best in the genre, and among the youngest on average age.

All they care about is running their stations the cheap way. This would be the most cost effective way to run things since there wouldn't be anyone on the payroll to pay. If you carefully read these boards and read the main page of this website, you would realize that all CC is doing so far this year is layoff as much air talent as they can.

We are in a deep recession. Cuts of all kinds are needed for companies of all kinds to make it through... Caterpillar, GE, Microsoft... just name one and it has likely cut staff in the last 6 months.

Yes, its true that the country is in a recession, but before the recession, CC and most of corporate radio was running things on the cheap, just not as much.
