ROVER-ROTH. OH MY.

I never thought I would totally say this...but Man, I miss Howard! The replacements Rover and Roth are horrid. Rover and his gang are so shallow, not funny, sophomoric and just plain not very talented. Rover got into the business when real talent in writing, performing and voice just weren't that important. His voice is terrible. The only thing going for him is--nerve. He's got that. But it will not be enough to sustain him, to make him a power in that business. I'm sure in a few years he will dissapear into management. As far as his other crew, why did he drag such boneheaded, zero talents with him to the national stage? The one guy is a total empty headed lug head ex-jock and the girl just whines and adds nothing to the mix. She sounds like a nurse. The writing? Could it be more transparent? Made up stories, bad games, watered down Stern bits. It's just too much to talk about. Please let it go away!!!! As far as Roth. He's just in over his head. A rocker with a huge personality who has mellowed and is trying to do a "infohelp type show." He forgets...we want to laugh!! He's not capable of that. Howard, it's time for me to pay...you were right, so very right....

I would definitely get Sirius, Howard's show is good as well as Bubba's on Howard 101. The music channels are way better than FM with no commercials. It's definitely worth the money.

Did the Rover show ever hire the joke writer they were looking for?

> She sounds like a nurse.

OK, I'll bite... what does a nurse sound like?

I tried to give Rover a chance. I'd tune in for a little while, but never found myself laughing. And the Thursday Hook-up gets more attention than it's really worth. But when they were doing the bit where Dieter ate a light bulb, well, that was the nail in the coffin for me. It was stupid, plain and simple. It's nothing new, but the fact that we have morons on this planet who would try to replicate the stunt just made it a poor decision, whether it was real or not. It was just stupid.

I'm soooo glad Brandmeier's back. The timing was perfect for him to come back. He's actullay entertaining and keeps the show moving. Mancoward is crap, Eric & Kathy is the same thing every single day, and the rest aren't really worth it to me. But back to my point, I gave Rover a chance and I'm done with him.

P.S. - that "nurse" is Duji, whi once was Kevin Matthews producer at CD94.7.

>>am sirius-ly thinking of getting hooked up with Howard but in the

>>Rachel Maddow, Bill Bennett, Spike O'Dell, Cliff Kelley and yes,
>>Joe Gentile.

At least you legitimately gave Rover a shot, unlike a certain media writer who attacked Rover sight unheard as not a local boy, forgetting that Brandmeier, Dahl and Mancow all came from other cities and are not native Chicagoans.

I agree 100%. I got a Sirius radio for Christmas and I will never listen to FM radio again.

The irony is that Rover IS a native Chicagoan. I knew him in the early 90s and I'm pretty sure he told me he was born in Chicago (or NW Indiana I forgot which). He has moved around a lot in his life, but does have Chicagoland roots. Not that it really matters, whether his show suceeds or fails will have nothing to do with where he's from.
