Well, I was surfing the net this evening, and I came across a webpage with all of the CC HD2 stations on it, complete with web streams. So, listen and enjoy.

I THINK WKSC HD2 is a Gospel format

Wow that's pretty cool. Too bad Emmis doesn't have anything like that?

On another note: Do AM's have HD radio capability? And what AM's will be broadcasting in HD?

AM's do have HD capability. It makes them sound pretty much like FM stations (however they do NOT have capability for an HD2)

In Chicago, WSCR is broadcasting in HD. WBBM was, and I imagine will be back with their HD, and WGN should be in HD soon.

Remember at this time, AM HD is only allowed during daytime hours.

You're wrong for sure. I have listened to the online stream and it's hip-hop. I don't know if it's the hurban format or just newer hip-hop. Gospel stations don't play Black Eyed Peas, especially a song like My Humps.

WRLL 1690 and AM 1200 (forget the calls) are also HD. You may also get WTMJ 620 in Milwaukee.

It is only daytime at this time.

Guess I didnt spend enough time lsitening. The CC Gospel in Detroit was not your "Holy Roller" type music, but featured artists like Kirk Franklin.

I **THINK** you are right.

Radio-Locator claims that 1200 is WRTO.

Gospel can be found on V103's sub-channel. I don't know if it's a simulcast of WGRB or a separate gospel format.

WRTO is correct. It was WVIV-AM when it was simulcasting with the FM on 103.1. When Univision acquired 93.5 from Nextmedia, that became part of the simulcast, and later the calls on the AM side were changed, along with the format.

The HD2 signal of WMXD Detroit seems to have an interesting format - a wider-ranging mix of "Inspirational Radio" including everything from straight Gospel numbers to Holy Hip Hop with artists like Papa San, Mary Mary, Kiki Sheard, Karen Clark-Sheard, J Moss, Ramiyah, etc. They are not limiting the format to self-proclaimed "Christian" artists however - it appears that secular artists/songs, as long as they fit the format, may be included.

I think this is also a format that could work in Chicago.
