Mega1035.com could have been the website for WMGE "Mega 103.5", AMFM's "Jammin' Oldies" outlet in Miami. I know this station's main domain was megamiami.com (which now redirects to Miami's new WMGE, Mega 94.9), but you'd think that they would have used mega1035.com to redirect listeners. These days, the Miami station is hip-hop "103.5 The Beat" WMIB.

103.1 has had only one format, pop, since it went on as an HBC-Univsion stattion. Spanish pop has shifted into almost 100% reggaetón, and there is essentially no other kind of pop being programmed.

Guess they'd have to flip the HD-2 "Kisspanic" format before it launches!

True, but the change from "pop" to reggaeton did result in a branding change in which the station was given a new name. So would WPPN's flip to an AC/oldies mix classify as a format change, or do you see the change at 103.1 as more like WOJO "Estereomex" becoming "Que Buena"?

What would be ironic here is that this would be the third format to be copied from suburban station(s) to 103.5 (first Jammin' Oldies, then CHR, now Reggaeton?)

But the change in brand only happened after the stations was 80% out of playing Spanish pop.

WPPN was a change form gold based AC to Spanish Adult Hits, and are very different formats.

Estereomex to Que Buena, a change which I did, was more getting a format than changing it. The station had been all over the road, with no music format, no music policy, no stationality, no ability to compete. That one is definitly a format change.

Looks like the CCU that is changing is WNUA... maybe at 6 PM today.

If 100.3 does wind up shifting to a more lively, upbeat format (as they seem to be doing now), wouldn't that actually work in WNUA's favor? It seemed to me that they were competing more directly when they were Love FM.

It would seem very unlikely for Clear Channel to blow up Kiss-FM in Chicago, especially since it's seen some big gains lately. Maybe they are moving Kiss to 95.5 and putting something else on 103.5.

But looking at the billing review that Feder put out a few days ago, it would make no sense to can WNUA, which was far higher in market share and billing than WKSC. But the PD leaving today is definitely a bit suspicious.

Used to.. It was in DC, iirc, and they just blew it up. I think it's N/T now complimenting WTOP.

I do own the domain mega1035.com. I've owned it for several years. I had a site up; however, i took it down a few years ago.

It would be a HUGE mistake for KISS-FM to change formats! It would leave Chi-town without a true mainstream Top 40 radio station!!!!! If they did, should they consider the name "Wild 103-5, Chicago's Party Station?"<P ID="signature">______________
