Long Island, fm channel 105.3

Dance is still in heavy rotation on the 105.3 signal.
They mix in some r&b cuts but no hip, hop.
Unfortunately they throw in some eclectic rock ala WLIR but dance is played every 3 songs or so.
Not a bad station and there's no talk and no commericals aside from the short sponsor adds.
Not a bad idea for radio although they're going to have to tweak the format to fit and actual format.
They're way too all over the road but after having listened all weekend I wouldn't say we lost a dance station.

They are playing less dance than they use to, no more mix shows the flow of the station is completley gone. way too many slow ballad HotAcish type rock cuts. I still listen sometimes, but they are not even on the radar as they were before the flip
______________

How close is the current sound of 105.3 compared to what WLIR sounded like about 3 or 4 years ago when they were sort of Hot AC'ish but dance friendly? From what I'm reading here, it sounds pretty close.

Its a bit different, when LIR was doing it they spaced it apart. During the day it was alot of rock/ pop hot acish stiuff, with very little dance, at night they played alot of dance with very little hoacish type stuff (and all dance at one point at night between 7-12 or so). Now the former Party mixes it all throughout the day
______________
