New Bill in House of Representitives LPFM VS. Commercial Encrochment

Representive Lousie Slaughter has just sent in to committee a draft tweaking Senate Bill 312. Not only does it eliminate the 3rd adjacency restriction (after we taxpapers paid The Mitre Corporation 2.1 million dollars to find out something we already knew), but it also calls for protection against any Commercial operator who plans to dislocate any LPFM. This will put a stop to these rural to urban move-in's. First Broadcasting, LLC (the kingpins of these market move-ins) must be extremely nervous right now as they have literally tens of millions of dollars at stake here. Can't wait for First Broadcastings' lawsuit against the FCC in D.C. Circuit Court. Oh yeah.............

Oh yeah. Hey First Broadcasting, you'll especially enjoy page 14 and 15. Paragraph 6 " Proceeding to resolve the problem of encroachment"-
(B) Protection from interference- "If the Commission considers an application for a new full-power FM station, or major or minor modification to a full-power FM station,....(i) shall consider any operating LPFM station as Primary to the applicant; and "(ii) may not grant the application if the grant of the application will cause harmful interference to the existing LPFM station".
The boys in Dallas are going to have fun with this one............
