Why did you think that? In the latest 12+ ratings, which admittedly don't mean much, the Air America affiliate has almost double the rating it had last summer and beats six other rated stations (including a Clear Channel FM), not to mention the stations that didn't do well enough to make the ratings list.

Well, double nothing-much is still not much.

They are down in the latest trend from their weak high-water mark in the winter.

R@R lists them as ranked #24. They've had stories on TV and full page articles with pictures in both papers, and they're still only 24th??

But, you're correct, they're puttin a hurt on Bustos Medias Regional Mexican station!

Re: Is Blatherwatch a joke?

No they aren't! The buzz is that Bustos' AM 1210 is turning heads and making listeners and barely after being on the air! Their first live remote was very successful according to a recent article I saw.

And now with KAYO FM? They will probably show up in the ratings above some Seattle channels next season.

Air America is here to stay. Blatantly biased and blessed with the same regs that conservative "Food Critics" can broadcast just like the pill popper down in his Palm Beach mansion can. Hey there's alot of little AM signals out there that would love to have someone..anyone..fill the airwaves as compared to the "Food Critic" felon named G.Gordon Liddy or the guy who stabbed Reagan in the back..you know that "Food Critic" named Oliver North.

Air America will grow, perhaps not as much as white wing radio but I'd invest in it, just like former Clear Channel programming honcho Randy Michaels just did. Plus I like a good meal.

If you really think that a difference of two-tenths of one percent
in the essentially meaningless 12+ ratings is statistically
significant, you don't know much about radio. But I guess that
goes without saying.

Re: Is Blatherwatch a joke?

Are thing so boring these days people have been forced to argue the ratings of the local Hispanic stations? God help us all

Re: Is Blatherwatch a joke?

Actually I was trying to point out how little medium powered KDDS was clobbering liberal liberation station KPTK. Sorry to be unclear.
