I have been hearing a number of things about Vermont's supposed socialist tendencies and I looked at the Vermont Legislature website. At first glance:
The Vermont Governor is a Republican as is the Lt. Governor.
9 of the 30 members of the Vermont State Senate are Republicans. The rest are dems.
60 of the 150 members of the Vermont State House of Reps are Republicans. A small handful (6) are identified as "P" (progressives) and one identified as "I". Assuming all the p's and I's are socialists they represent..drumroll please...less than 5% of the state house! They're everywhere I tell you! Hide your wife and kids! Here are the faces of some of the communist plotters:

"Congressman Sanders is an Independent affiliated with the Progressive Party, but has never been an official member."
Vermont is, by leaps and bounds, a far more Republican state than a Socialist state IMHO.
Brattleboro is represented by Democrats, 1 Independent and 1 Progressive.
