Interesting that 93.7 FM Boston seems to have a "Counterpart" in Oregon

There's a MIKE FM 93.7 in South (Medford) Oregon - owned by Mapleton Communications - so it doesn't seem to be Entercom extending its reach

KTMT http://www.beat93.com/

my apologies if this ground has already been covered

Is MIKE going to be a format unto itself, a variation on JACK?

No. There are already a number of variety "Adult Hits" stations using various "names" across the USA, and they're all the similar format. Maybe tweaked a bit differently in different locations, but all the same idea.

So far, according to Radio-Locator, we have twelve Jack's, three Mike's, five Bob's, two Charlie's, one Fred, one Max, one Abe, one Arch, one Ben, one Simon, one Ted, and one Dave, all variety "Adult Hits" stations.

Eli -

This is amazing and sounds like a parody!

They should have a Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice multi-genre format too!
