Fantastic word game

To keep it all straight, I write everything down on a piece of paper and then spend several hours a night committing those things to memory.

Memory is typically the first thing to start slipping as you get older.

This one's a bit short, but I'm still out of breath from the previous one.

As you get older you have more memories to reflect upon, right up to today when you have made somebody's day happily memorable.

Happily memorable years for me were 1967, 1973, 1976, 1986, 2004, 2011 and 2022.

2022 was a disappointment to those of us who call The RCM Ranch home since we were all excited to hear that Costco had purchased a parcel of land and would soon be built up the road from us, but it has yet to come to fruition, which leaves us stuck with nothing more than a decrepit and really disorganized Sam's.

A decrepit and really disorganized Sam's admittedly is a place I have never been, falling apart or otherwise.

Falling apart or otherwise, the grandstand of a baseball park is a great place to while away a few hours on a lazy summer afternoon.

Afternoon whiling is a favorite pastime for geezers these days.

These days, the rambling redneck's drive still makes it into gear, but it tends to do so at a slighty slower pace.

A slightly slower pace is a good counterbalance to going nowhere, and making good time.

Time for me to happily notice that Miss Silkie has been contributing more frequently lately, which is fantastic, but I hope that doesn't mean that business has slowed over at Tasty Tidbits or perhaps there aren't enough lovely young library interns to keep her busy.

I head to sunny Florida in 16 days for some intern recruiting fun in the sun.

By the way, yesterday was International Haiku Day which I had mentioned a few days ago in honor of our late friend Anyacat. Sadly, no one has celebrated by contributing in the form of a haiku. rosecity, why don't you do the honors. Thanks

Keep her busy with
these poetry challenges
but I'll get in first.

First, I would like to thank CT for presenting the first haiku contribution and, second, I just might weep.

I just might weep over getting beaten by WMC in offering the next contribution behind CT's, having to erase everything, and ending up settling for this.

The Abbott and Costello inspired original submission that I had already typed up was, oh, so much better, but now I guess ya'll will never know.

Ending up settling for this because I can't think of much else at 2:15am, I'm heading back to bed with the hope that tomorrow will be a perfect day.

Tomorrow will be a perfect day to play the Fantastic Word Game and take an early morning bike ride.

It's gonna be a nice day with clear skies and comfortable temperatures, so why not?

All day long, I'd imagine, Lionel Richie must sleep after dancing on the ceiling all night long.

All night long I thought about living the rest of my life with The Cajun Queen north of the Mason-Dixon line, and it made me break out into a cold sweat.

Neither we, nor y'all, are prepared for craziness like that.
